Who Needs Attachment Work?

People who care deeply about the quality of their relationships but struggle with forming, maintaining, or progressing them find this work most impactful. Those who are learning to care well for themselves also benefit greatly. That’s pretty much everybody!

Many different types of people need attachment work because of different circumstances, so I am going to be adding to my blog regularly to provide more snapshots into the work so you can see how you may relate. I also have a podcast called Boundaries and Grace on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube which has a ton of attachment-related content. There are 110+ episodes!

Attachment is a science of the most essential human behaviors and desires. It’s no wonder it’s a so valuable to such a wide range of people.

Regardless of what you’re having trouble with, if we work together I am going to help you clearly understand where your patterns came from, how they’re affecting your current outcomes, and show you how to apply solutions in a practical and transformational way. You will be able to manage yourself and relationships better as a Securely Attached person.

FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

I do not bill to insurance companies, but if you have a payment card that your employer has issued that allows you to pay for coaching services, you are welcome to use that card information.

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

All sessions are on Zoom or on the phone. You select your method when you schedule your sessions.

Is there homework?

Yes, you get homework every session. The homework is individualized to fit your personal needs. I have a big bank of homework assignments I’ve used over time but sometimes you need something even more specific to what we’re targeting that week. In that case, I create something for you and you receive it within 48 hours. If I already have the assignment in my bank, you’ll get it immediately after session.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching helps you get to a new place. Therapy helps you understand how you got here. I am a licensed therapist and a certified coach, trained and experienced in both areas. On our consult call, we will discuss which approach fits you best based on your needs and goals.

What if I need more than 12 sessions?

Then we do more! Think of the 12-sessions as a frame for us to work in, helping to stay accountable with your work and track progress.

Some of my clients are ready to graduate from sessions after the 12th (and sometimes before) but other times there is simply more to be done. You can count on me directly addressing your progress along the way so you will have clear expectations of the length of time we may be working together.

What if I need fewer than 12 sessions?

I will refund you all unused sessions, minus 3.5% of the total price of unused sessions. The policy is outlined in your informed consent document you receive before beginning sessions.
